Feeding a Calf

Why use a model?

A model is a mathematical or computational tool used to simulate and analyze systems and processes. RuFaS is designed to represent the interactions between different components of a farm system, such as the animal life cycle, manure production and storage, soil quality and erosion, crop yields and quality, and feed storage. Generally speaking, models can range from a simple decision-support tool to a complex simulation models that require significant data inputs. The RuFaS model is designed to support farmer decision-making by accounting for a wide array of animal, manure, crop, and feed storage management types and optimize productive efficiency.
